Jacquelin Phung said what she’s learning about risk taking and new ways of thinking through the entrepreneurship and innovation stream in York University’s Bachelor of Commerce program is giving her the practical experience and skills she needs to one day launch a new business. In just her second year of the program, which is offered at York’s Markham Campus, Phung, 19, has already gained enough confidence in creative problem-solving to submit a proposal to the National Hockey League’s annual Hockey Innovation Competition for an idea to repurpose rinks off-season.
