Not only is local food fresher and better for the environment, but when you eat local, you support the many farms that call York Region home. The agri-food sector in York Region – covering everything from farms, to food processors, grocery stores and more – contributes over $2.7 billion in GDP to the local economy and supports over 59,000 jobs.
