Two York Region Pro Golfers Debut in PGA Tour at Farmers Insurance Open Tournament

The 24-year-old Sear turned pro in 2019 after graduating from West Virginia University with a degree in business. He is also a graduate of Bill Crothers Secondary School in Unionville. Sear will be one of nine Canadians in the event including Taylor Pendrith of Richmond Hill.

Unionville’s Max Sear shot a four-under par 68 in a Jan. 24 qualifying round for the Farmers Insurance Open tournament this week at Torrey Pines Golf Club near San Diego.

Sear finished in a three-way tie for second placed in the 18-hole qualifier held at Bear Creek Golf Club in Murrieta, CA to earn his first entry into a PGA tournament.
